I would be more willing to bet on a Absolute Rival situation. Like they will be friends, probably best friends in the way they understand each other, but will never admit that they are.

I really hate scenes when lovers are looking for each other and end up in different rooms,

People say she went overboard but in all honesty she didn't and was justified in what she did. The MC even though he used Sacrifice was still not as strong as the opponent is and the opponent could have used other means to stop the attack the MC used. However because the MC put up more a fight and embarrassed him he got angry and used his spirit stove which is basically a lethal move. Hence he would have killed the MC if there was not grand elders there with superb healing abilities. That is why she went ballistic on him anyone would if someone tried to kill the person they loved.

No matter how you tried to justified Cai'er's action still No.1 knight did nothing wrong here. He didn't cheat and fought fairly with HC. HC lose because of level difference and injured because of overexerting himself. Cai'er losing her shit over HC clearly a maiden who blinded by love yet the Elder of Assassin's temple didn't try to stop her resulted political tension between 2 temples.

I agree, No.1 did nothing wrong, he actually fought fairly and with more honour than that grandson. He even showed some concern for MC. MC put himself in danger. What Cai’er did was unnecessary

I liked crimson's post on animexin's site in regard to this. He stated that if it's anyone's fault at all, it should be the referee's and the elders because they sat back and let Hao Chen use the sacrificial skill to empower himself further when they should have stepped in and stopped him from going too far before he endangered his life.

It actually is their fault at any time they could have intervened, and stop the match before Hao Chen did that sacrificial power move, but they didn't cause they wanted to see the full potential of Hao Chen for him being the son of a top sealed throne knight one of the best and to face against another sealed throne knight prodigy. However being that of a knight one the main seven virtues of a knight is " Courage" and yo boy most def showed his heart in that match.

It didn't seem that using the "furnace" to attack is illegal and to my eyes it seemed he was desperately just trying to defend himself.

right so he powered up from some sacrificial move to the brink of death because that's how it was being portrayed and No. 1 knight use his main attack to stop the madness effectively saving his life. Hence MC was sacrificing life/lifeforce, and that usually has adverse consequences in any other story. But the MC plot armor too thick here tho 🤦🏽‍♂️ so watch all that get casually swept under the carpet. And Cai'er planted a huge death-flag with her crazy attack; blind is not an excuse to not 'see' the bigger picture where in that bigger demon war, they are going to need all their strong knights working together (so bicch is legit crazy!). However, that will happen much much later I think when MC fighting a losing battle against the boss demon- her sacrifice/death will cause MC to go into god mode and that will be the bittersweet ending. That is how predictable this story is; really hope they prove me wrong tho.

Hopefully she doesn’t become weak when the MC becomes strong, like Xiao Wu.

MC is simp and didn't use his child of light op energy like he used against his father maybe if that No 1 knight could have said a mother joke to MC then we could have seen him using his child of light potential too.Dont forget that ungrateful lizard mount MC saved by almost killing himself in the process never showed up to support him.Thats what naive characters get for choosing a dying lizard on impulse over a good helpeful mount and later that lizard will bite MCs hand and will try to kill MC
